WorkOne Northeast will conduct information sessions Thursday for 75 workers laid off last week by Janus International Group in Butler.
The July 9 sessions will be followed by two job fairs – one for displaced Janus workers and one for the general public. The job fairs will feature more than 20 employers.
WorkOne Northeast, in partnership with the city of Butler, will conduct Rapid Response sessions at 10 a.m. and noon Thursday at Butler City Hall, 215 S. Broadway St. Provided at the sessions will be information about services available at WorkOne Northeast career centers and a high-level overview of unemployment insurance.
A job fair for former Janus workers will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at city hall, followed by a job fair for the general public from 2 to 3 p.m.
“Our priority is ensuring that impacted workers have immediate access to the resources, support services and employment opportunities they need during this transition,” said Jennifer Steigerwald, business services manager for Northeast Indiana Works. “We are committed to helping these individuals connect with new career opportunities as quickly as possible.”
Northeast Indiana Works oversees the region’s WorkOne Northeast career centers.
