Workers at four northeast Indiana companies who have lost their jobs or are scheduled to lose their jobs are eligible for benefits and services through the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program.
The four companies are Metaldyne/AAM in Fremont, Vibracoustic in Ligonier, American Woodmark Corp. in Gas City and Eaton Corp. in Auburn.
TAA is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor through the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD). TAA assists workers who have lost their jobs due to foreign trade, and those affected in northeast Indiana can seek help by calling WorkOne Northeast’s Kristi at 317-967-1999.
Any worker laid off from Metaldyne/AAM, a manufacturer of auto parts, on or after Oct. 27, 2019, or any worker scheduled to be laid off before Nov. 17, 2022, may be eligible to apply for TAA benefits.
Any worker laid off from Vibracoustic, a manufacturer of automotive vibration reduction components, on or after July 22, 2019, or any worker scheduled to be laid off before Nov. 6, 2022, may be eligible to apply for TAA benefits.
Any worker laid off from American Woodmark, a manufacturer of cabinets, on or after April 17, 2019, or any worker scheduled to be laid off before April 17, 2021, may be eligible to apply for TAA benefits.
Any worker laid off from Eaton, a manufacturer of automotive parts, on or after Nov. 19, 2019 or any worker scheduled to be laid off before Jan. 24, 2023, may be eligible to apply for TAA benefits.
TAA services and benefits include:

Many benefits are time sensitive. Workers have up to 26 weeks from their certification date, or 26 weeks from their separation date (whichever is later), to enroll in training to receive income support benefits.
