Five employment training advisers with WorkOne Northeast are among 35 career coaches from across Indiana named to the first Skillful Indiana Governor’s Coaching Corps.
The program, a collaboration of Skillful Indiana and Gov. Eric Holcomb, is an eight-month training and leadership development initiative designed to support Indiana’s career coaching professionals so they can serve Indiana jobseekers more effectively in a changing economy. The coaching corps participants represent a diverse mix of organizations, including public workforce centers, adult education institutions, K-12 schools, and nonprofits.
WorkOne Northeast participants are: Michelle Garcia, representing career centers in DeKalb and Noble counties; Tammy Gibson, Allen County; Brianna James-Logan, Grant County; Jesus Rosario, Allen County, and Thomas Utnage, DeKalb County.
The five will receive more than 90 hours of training in leadership, coaching and technical skills; insight into work and economic trends; networking with high-achieving peers, and access to industry professionals, workforce experts and state leaders.
“We are thrilled to have some of our WorkOne Northeast employment training advisers participate in this program,” said Northeast Indiana Works CEO Kathleen Randolph. “We look forward to not only their professional development but also the best practices they will share with others in our regional workforce system as we work to serve the people of northeast Indiana.”
