Program Launched to Help People with Disabilities

May 22, 2018

Northeast Indiana Works has been designated an employment network by the Social Security Administration, paving the way for the nonprofit workforce development organization to offer a Ticket to Work program that will help eligible people with disabilities succeed in the workforce.

Northeast Indiana Works becomes the fourth organization in the region and 32nd in the state to receive the employment network designation. The Ticket to Work program will be offered through Northeast Indiana Works’ WorkOne Northeast career centers.

Ticket to Work, which is free and voluntary, is designed to help people with disabilities move toward financial independence and connects them with the services and support they need to succeed in the workforce.

Among the free, supportive one-on-one services offered to Ticket to Work participants through WorkOne Northeast: Pre-employment training and assistance, such as resume development, interview training, how to find jobs, and benefits counseling, as well as ongoing supports once a person is employed.

People interested in learning more about the program can visit or call their nearest WorkOne Northeast career center. A list of the career centers can be found on this website.
