Four northeast Indiana high school students affiliated with the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program were honored at Indiana’s JAG Career Development Conference March 16 in Indianapolis.
Iesha Young of Snider High School earned a second-place honor in the prestigious outstanding senior category, which recognizes seniors who exemplify the JAG spirit through commitment to education, community service and leadership.
Other local winners: Taylor Geise, Manchester High School senior, second place for career presentation; Kyi Naing, New Haven High School junior, third place for career presentation; Cohen Marvel, Manchester High School junior, third place for employability skills.
JAG in northeast Indiana is overseen by Northeast Indiana Works and carried out by Brightpoint. There are 15 JAG programs in the region’s high schools. The programs are dedicated to preventing dropouts among young people who are most at risk.
