A report identifying effective work-and-learn program characteristics was recently completed and presented to northeast Indiana stakeholders by Indianapolis consultant Matt Fleck.
The report was made possible by a state grant given the Region 3 Works Council and matching assistance through the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. Northeast Indiana Works worked with Fleck to develop the scope of project.
Work-and-learn programs can include internships, pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships. Fleck researched effective work-and-learn programs nationally, recommended criteria for assessing the success of work-and-learn programs, and suggested action steps northeast Indiana can take to improve regional work-and-learn programs.
